In the late afternoon, drive with a tuktuk and your guide to the nearby Wat Damnak Pagoda. Here you meet with a local monk and receive a monk blessing. The blessing is a traditional local ritual that allows the spirits to watch over you and protect you while you travel through Cambodia. A small token is handed to you by the monk after the ritual. Walk around the compound of the pagoda and continue afterwards to a small village called Kok Dong.

Meet with Mr. Sophoan, a local gentleman who gave up a great job to dedicate his life to help the children of the community he grew up in. Mr. Sophoan set up a local school to educate the underprivileged children of the Kok Dong community. Over 400 children between 2 and 16 years old attend his classes these days. For a mere 50 cents a month the children receive basic Khmer and English lessons, computer lessons and other subjects such as mathematics, Khmer history and hygiene. Walk around the compound of the school and listen to Mr. Sophoan’s story. There are always children around the compound to play a game of football with!
Return to Treasure Oasis Hotel and make a final stop in the early evening at Sombai. Sombai produces infused rice wines and has created a number of exceptional drinks. Meet up at their beautiful traditional Khmer Villa and learn more about the process of creating the spirits. Taste some of the spirits and return to Treasure Oasis Hotel.
